Orange is the New Black (season 6)

Okay, so this isn’t much of a trailer. But here’s what we do know: the past five seasons of Jenji Kohan’s boundary-pushing prison drama have been nominated for multiple Emmys. Even in the time of prestige TV, OITNB is a series worth watching — and perhaps more importantly, worth talking about.

I, Tonya

If you still aren’t caught up on 2017’s lineup of awards season favourites, here’s your chance. This Oscar-nominated Tonya Harding biopic is a wildly entertaining exploration of figure skating’s most infamous athlete. It’s dark, sharp-witted and it features stand out performances from Margot Robbie and Allison Janney. (If you’re looking for more reasons to watch, read our TIFF 2017 review of the film.)

Suits (season 7)

This Toronto-filmed legal drama has always been a crowd pleaser. But even if you aren’t a fan of court-room jargon and big egos in ties, there’s one reason to tune in to check out the hype: The Duchess of Sussex. This is Meghan Markle’s final season on the TV series that brought her Princess-worthy fame, and it’s likely the last time the world will see her acting on screen. Plus, if you make it to the final episode, you’ll get to see her walk down the aisle one more time.

Available July 12
