Call for Performing Artists

The Woman of the Year will be presented, and the Scholarship winner will be awarded at the luncheon.  Also after the fashion show when the models have finished on the runway; a rack of beautiful NEW clothes donated by SORORS OF Gama Mu for this event will be brought out on stage. The MC will extend an opportunity to any attendee who has the courage to browse and select an outfit, and model for everyone (strut-their stuff) on the runway for everyone to admire, and you can keep the outfit.  Isn't that a unique way to end a fashion show?

“Pumas Gone Green” E-Waste Collection Event This school fundraiser is a recession proof method to raise money for student body activities such as field trips, evening activities involving parents working with their children in math, language arts and science, murals and replacement of playground benches.  Donations of obsolete or broken televisions, computers/monitors, printers, microwaves, VCRS, telephones, DVD players, power supplies, cell phones, ink cartridges and anything electrical will be accepted.  The school will be paid by the pound.  Please help Century Park support President Obama’s plan for a green economy by sharing your e-waste with the school.  The event is  from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Century Park Elementary, 10935 S. AIA Hancock Park Home Tour
Marking a slight departure from past home tours, the American Institute of Architects Los Angeles (www.aialosangeles.org) is proud to announce the first-ever Spring Home Tour to focus exclusively on remarkable renovations of more traditional Los Angeles homes. From French-Mediterranean to pure Italianate, the Spring Home Tour will take visitors inside some of the most beautifully restored homes in Hancock Park, an exclusive urban neighborhood that boasts an abundance of classic Los Angeles architecture. Working within the existing historic structure, this outstanding class of architects rises to the unique challenge of renovating and restoring these traditional homes to their best form yet.  The National Organization of Minority Architects- Los Angeles Chapter and  have arranged through Urban Design & Development, LLC to get tickets for high school students to the Tour.
