Call for Performing Artists
The City of Inglewood’s Historic Site Preservation Committee has issued a call for local musicians, dancers, and vocalists, who are interested in showcasing their talents during the “Concerts at the Mural” summer concert series, scheduled to take place each Sunday during the month of June from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Grevillea Art Park, 231 South Grevillea Avenue.  Interested parties who are able to donate their time and/or talents should contact Pamela Renowden of the Inglewood Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department at (310) 412-8796.

Krump Zone Event
Dance as a form of worship is a common occurrence in many religions, but Krumping for Christ? K.R.U.M.P is an acronym for Kingdom, Radically, Uplifting, Mighty, Praise. Krump dancing can be used as a form of worship and is perfect for the youth of today.  Del Frederick K.C. Price III School will host the KRUMP Zone. Event proceeds will be donated to FKCP III School.  The Krump Zone is a popular club event where teens and young adults can enjoy the Hip Hop craze, featuring crews from across Southern California. This live show format consists of performances by Krump crews, solo Krumpers and will also spotlight Gospel artists from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Crenshaw Christian Center grounds at 7901 S. Vermont Ave. in the heart of Los Angeles.

*Been There, Done That, Now What? Workshop
The Tunson Leadership Foundation (TLF) will host this goal setting and personal transformation seminar. This exciting and interactive day gives students and parents the opportunity to participate in breakout workshops that cover time management, effective communication, getting organized, college pre-planning, developing personal leadership, relieving stress and avoiding conflicts with peers and adults. In honor of the 40th Year Anniversary of Crenshaw High School, TLF has launched its *Fantastic Forty* campaign in which the foundation will adopt a group of 40 students from the 9th Grade class
beginning with this 2008-2009 school year. We need your help! The foundation will be on a mission to literally transform the lives of these forty youth. Tavis Smiley 2009 Leadership Institute
The Tavis Smiley Foundation's Youth to Leaders program is accepting applications for the 2009 Leadership Institute scheduled for August 7-11 on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles. The application deadline is May 31; however we will continue registration until we reach capacity.  High school and middle school students, ages 13-18, will have a chance to meet more than 200 of the nation's best young leaders for five days of training on leadership, youth advocacy, volunteerism and civic engagement. The Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA), in association with the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation and the Law Guild of Beverly Hills, hosts the 55th Annual Supreme Court Luncheon honoring the justices of the California Supreme Court.  The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at 55th Annual California Supreme Court Luncheon Beverly Hills Hotel, 9641 Sunset Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
