Lady Bells Win League Title
High School Basketball Coach Bo Corona was recently named "Division IV AA Coach of the Year" by the CIF Southern Section and the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (SCIBCA).
Coaching his Saint Mary's Academy Lady Bells to a 30-6 record for 2006-2007 season, led to the all-girls team emerging as league champs, undefeated 8-0 in the Santa Cruz League. The team was led by Shontwa Redmond, who was also named "League MVP" and "Division IV AA Player of the Year."
"I highly recommend for young ladies to participate in athletics," Coach Corona said. "It teaches them to be disciplined, respectful and to develop good work ethics. These are characteristics that-if developed properly-young ladies can use in their everyday lives."
Congratulations to Coach Corona and the entire Lady Bells team: Shontwa Redmond, Candice Manier, Simone Lemelle, Ikeriah Redmond, Shasidy Ludgood, Keyaira Hamilton, Elizabeth Zimmerman, Talia Rayford, Angel Smith, and Jazmonai Haynes.
