The 2,309-square-foot home was built in 1937 at a cost of $7,500.

Known as the Ulm House, it’s attributed to William Kesling

Jake Shears, singer-songwriter for the glam-rock band Scissor Sisters, is looking to divest himself of his equally glam Los Feliz home. Completed in 1937, the Amesbury Road residence is believed to be one of 15 single-family dwellings designed by Streamline Moderne master William Kesling still standing in Los Angeles.

Known as the Ulm House, it contains 2,309 square feet of living space within its three levels. Two of the home’s three bedrooms are on the top floor, while the third is on the lower level, which also contains a spacious lounge with wet bar. Each level opens to a separate outdoor space.

Notable architectural features include a dramatic magnesite staircase illuminated by a curved wall of glass blocks, steel-banded windows, Art Deco-style lighting, and colorful vintage tile.

On a 5,548-square-foot lot in the hills above Los Feliz Boulevard, the property is listed with an asking price of $2.248 million. An open house is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The living room features hardwood floors and a decorative fireplace.
There’s also a built-in banquette and sizable bank of steel-banded windows.
The wood-paneled kitchen is modest in size, but modernized.
The bathrooms sport colorful period tile and fixtures.
Below the main level is a lounge with wet bar and guest suite.
There are multiple outdoor entertaining spaces.
